Women’s Health
Our Women’s Health and Oncology program is managed by Kristi Svec, MPT. Among other things, her expertise assists our patients with the following conditions:
- Pelvic floor dysfunction in both men and women
- Rehabilitation following a mastectomy or lumpectomy
- Pain during pregnancy
- Lymphedema
Pelvic floor dysfunction can include pain, difficulty with urination, painful intercourse, or urinary/fecal incontinence. Our specialists complete a private examination and treat every patient with an individualized treatment program.
Following a mastectomy or lumpectomy, patients are educated in lymphedema precautions, range of motion activities, and scar management techniques. In the case of lymphedema, our specialists have been specially trained in manual lymphatic drainage and the specific treatment of lymphedema.
Women often experience pain during pregnancy. Physical therapy can offer relief through treatments including manual techniques, exercises, and the use of pregnancy supports.
